FAQS

1. How long does microblading last?

Microblading typically lasts 1-2 years. Many different factors can affect this including: skin type, pigment color used (darker pigments tend to last longer than lighter ones), sun exposure, and skin care regiment. Microblading is semi-permanent and will slowly fade over time. Wearing sunscreen directly on the brow is the best way to ensure that your brows continue to look the way you want them to!

2. How long is the appointment?

The initial appointment will take about 2.5 hours. We start with a thorough consultation where we will make sure we agree on a shape and color that is best for you. A large part of the appointment is spent measuring and drawing the perfect brow shape. The procedure itself only takes about 1.5 hours.

3. Does microblading hurt?

I use a numbing gel for the second round of strokes and once that is applied, clients say they cant’t feel a thing! I personally do not numb for the first round because it can affect the texture of the skin, and we need the skin in its normal state to ensure I know exactly how deep i’m going that first round! Most clients are very relieved when I make the first stroke and they realize it’s not as bad as they imagined.

4. How do I know if I need shading along with my microblading?

This is a question I get a lot! The good news is that if you’re not sure if you want microblading or microblading + shading, we can decide that on the day of your appointment during your consultation and its included in the price regardless!

Many people assume that shading means a bolder, darker brow but the way I use shading helps me to fill in areas where you may not have any hair of your own to help balance your brow! I will still do individual strokes consistently throughout your entire shape. In fact, most of my clients get microblading + shading!

5. What is the “6-8 Week Touch Up”?

Microblading is a two-appointment process. A touch up appointment will take place anywhere from 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment. This follow-up allows me to perfect any strokes that need to be reenforced and color correct if needs be!

6. Can I still get my brows waxed like normal?

Yes! But, leading up to your appointment, I ask that you grow your brows out and avoid waxing for 2 weeks prior to your appointment. The stray hairs normally removed are often handy to have when we fill in your shape!

After each appointment, I also ask that you avoid waxing for about 1 month after to allow the brow to heal fully.

7. What if my natural brows are lighter than my hair color?

When it comes to choosing a pigment color for your microblading, my goal is always to match it to your natural brow/hair color so it looks like an extension of your natural brow hair. My background as a hair color specialist helps me to perfectly match your color!

If you get your brows tinted regularly, make sure you come to your appointment with your brows tinted to the color you typically use so I can see that on the day of! Please tint your brows at least 1 week prior to your appointment so they’re not too dark/pigmented.
