Requirements & Aftercare

Had Previous Work Done?

If you have had previous microblading or permanent makeup done in the past, it is required that you contact me and send photos of your brows before scheduling an appointment. If you book an appointment without consulting me first and we cannot work on your brows due to the previous work that remains, I will have to cancel your appointment and charge you a late cancellation fee.

Pre-Appointment Requirements

Failure to comply with any of these requirements may result in us needing to reschedule your appointment, so please read the list thoroughly!

  • 24 hours prior: NO caffeine, NO alcohol, NO Ibuprofen or any other blood thinners (fish oil, Advil, Aleve, etc.)

  • Day of your appointment: Please arrive with no makeup on your brow and eye area so you can avoid having to cleanse and remove that makeup later on when brows must remain dry.

  • If you use Retinols or Retinoids, you must stop using them 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

  • If you get Botox, you must not have it done within 2 weeks prior to or after your appointment.

  • Avoid chemical peels and highly exfoliating skin care for 1 month prior to your appointment.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds 2 weeks prior to and after your appointment.

  • If you are taking antibiotics, you must wait 2 weeks after you’ve finished the medication.

  • You cannot have this service done if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Please let me know if you have a history of skin conditions or skin sensitivity.

  • Unfortunately if you experience any of the following conditions, you are not a suitable client for microblading and the service cannot be performed.

    • Psoriasis (on face)

    • Eczema (on face)

    • Rosacea

    • Seborrheic Dermatitis

    • Prone to Keloid scars

    • Thyroid Issues: Clients with thyroid or other autoimmune diseases can get the service done but are at risk of the pigment not retaining well and experience premature fading.

Aftercare

Complimentary aftercare products and information will be sent home with you!

  • You MUST avoid sweating and working out for at least 7 days after your appointment. The salt from sweat can fade the strokes and lead to poor pigment retention.

  • You must also avoid water for the first 7-10 days. I recommend using wipes to cleanse the face and avoid sticking your face directly under the water during any showers. Super hot water in your shower can also lead to steam and/or sweat, so cooler showers are best!

  • As your brows heal, do not pick or scratch at the dry skin/flakiness. Let the dry skin fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature pigment loss. Once the flakes have fallen off, a layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes and it may appear that the strokes are gone.

  • Within about 2 weeks the hair strokes will start to reappear as the skin regenerates. The microblading healing process can be an emotional rollercoaster. Trust the process!
